A Series of Mighty Women: 1 ~ Nannie Helen Burroughs

This is a companion to the Mighty Girls series.

As with that; very few of these will be familiar to many people, though they most defintely should.

Please steal away and spread the word.

In 1909, Nannie Helen Burroughs founded the National Training School for Women and Girls in Washington, D.C., under the motto: “We Specialize in the Wholly Impossible.” Burroughs dedicated her entire life to the betterment of black women, the suffrage movement, the NAACP, and the National Baptist’s Woman Convention. Her school still exists today.
