My apologies to elisi , to whom all these fics; still all drabbles, are dedicated as a birthday present, for the delay in getting back to posting these. Feels ages since I wrote this one; even though one of the more recent ones. It should have been posted the day I posted the previous, with all the others I got ready to go; added amongst others the same day, and that following, but trumpy-whiny, timey-roll-y whatever.
Anyway, it's up now (or will be soon) so back on the rocking horse-y...
TITLE: The Key to Lisa's Shadows.
FANDOM: Buffy the Vampire Slayer
CHARACTERS: Lisa's Dad; Lisa; Dawn;
SUMMARY: POV of Lisa's Father, on the cusp of Dawn's appearance in the Buffyverse.
A/N: I was wondering, as I was going through the other stories in this series, how other characters perceived Dawn's appearance in their lives, when she had not been there before; as we know.
She used to be so reluctant to get to School.
Dragging her feet until he had to drive her.
He just couldn't recall when.
Now she was almost out the door before he'd started his breakfast.
How to figure out the change?
Deciding on a surprise pizza lunch; he'd been drinking coffee when he saw her laughing.
His daughter having actual fun; joking with a young girl he'd not seen before.
Or been told of.
She seemed as sad and solitary as Lisa usually was.
She was growing up.
He trusted her to tell him when she was ready.
