Not such a happy birthday...

Yesterday was my 52nd birthday. I have now started my fifty-fourth year.
This was what I posted on facebook yesterday.

"Mostly what I feel this year is heartbroken over all the revelations about people I grew up loving and admiring.

Most of all Marion Zimmer Bradley who, along with Ursula K. Le Guin, did more to make me a science fiction fan than anyone else.

Rolf Harris wrote what is, to me at least, an anti-war song as great as any.

Heartbroken, when written down, doesn't really cover what I feel right now....

Thank you for the birthday wishes, but this cannot be a happy birthday.

I will always love and be a fan of Darkover, but how hard it will be to read of all my feminist heroes from those novels; knowing who created them.

Heartsick maybe; though I'm sure there are words in other languages that describe it far better.

Another year starts soon.

It has to be better.

Goddess watch over us all,
'tis ok to be Takei,
